Accuworx Cleans up Fuel Spill in Oakville

The Canadian Coast Guard mobilized Accuworx last week to assume command on a major fuel spill into the waters of Lake Ontario.  The contaminent discharged was Supreme gasoline from a failed transfer coupling.  Due to the explosive nature and vast area, Accuworx deployed their Marine Team and Environmental Spills Management Team.  Shore line protection was ensured through the rapid mobilization of 3000 feet of open water boom.   Accuworxs’ Intrinsically safe Vacuum Trucks were stationed at several points for collection of fuel though specially designed skimming devices used during the Deep water Horizon Event in the Gulf of Mexico.   All collected fuels were brought to Accuworxs’ recycling facility and returned to the transportor for reuse.

Accuworx performs Critical service for Region of Halton

The Region of Halton recently called in the Expertise of Accuworx to perform work at the Skyway Waste Water Treatment Plant in Burlington.   The plant needed their Centrate tanks cleaned immediately to perform work on their blower systems.  The tanks could only be locked out for an 8 hour period, due to biosolids needing to be dewatered by the plant Centrifuges.  Accuworx performed the work in six hours, the plants mechanical department performed the work on the blower system and the tanks were back on line.  There was no disruption to the dewatering portion of the plant.  The plant called in Accuworx the following day to do regular maintenance at the facility due to equipment and personnel efficiencies.

Accuworx Successfully Completes Digester Clean out for OCWA

Ontario Clean Water Agency contracted Accuworx to perform a Digester Clean out at the Clarkson Waste Water Treatment plant in Mississauga.  An Accuworx team mobilized, complete with a High Powered Vacuum Truck, Confined Space Entry and Rescue Personnel and all associated safety equipment.  Our high powered Vacuum Trucks (6400 CFM) the largest of its kind in Canada, performed the clean out in a rapid, safe and efficient manor.  Timing was very important, and due to the quick cleaning, OCWA personnel were able to get the digester back on line having minimal disruption to the plant systems.

Cameco calls on Accuworx Expertise

Last month, Cameco, one of the world’s largest Uranium companies called on Accuworx to perform some high pressure cleaning and Vacuum services throughout their plant.  Due to the very sensitive nature of the work performed, some information was not abled to be published.  Highly trained Accuworx staff had to endure a 12 hour Orientation, Fit testing, extensive physical fitness testing, Police background checks, and Proof of Training.  All components were executed on time and schedule, eliminating any down time for Cameco.  Accuworx will be returning for scheduled shut down work in November.
